Regardless of where you are with your book project, our mission is to help you bring your ‘work of heart’ to the world. Perhaps you simply have a great idea for a book–maybe one that has been rolling around inside your mind and heart for years. Or you may have developed an outline and written an introduction or a few chapters. You may have a complete manuscript—perhaps a rough first draft, or your manuscript may have been read and critiqued in writers’ groups or by respected colleagues or friends.

We provide all forms of editing, to match wherever you are with your book project and to help you create a publishable book that fulfills your vision.

  • Substantive or Structural Editing – Clarifying and/or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure.
  • Stylistic Editing – Clarifying meaning, eliminating jargon, smoothing language, and other non-mechanical line-by-line editing.
  • Copy Editing – Editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style; checking for consistency of mechanics and internal consistency of facts.
  • Proofreading – Checking the final, edited proof manuscript for mechanics of style, pagination errors, table of contents, bibliography, index, etc.

In addition to these basic editing services, we help our authors with important considerations, such as: audience, purpose, organization, tone, graphics, research style, theme development, and character development (if it is a work of fiction).

Except for proofreading, there is no up-front charge for any of the editing services described above. Our editing services are provided as part of our Value-added Publisher Services.
