These services are all required in order to publish your book and are paid for prior to publication. Note that some of these Publication Services are eligible for a REBATE (*), based on sales of your book during the first two years after publication. In addition to Proofreading, EWH Press provides extensive editing services that are part of our Value-added Publisher Services.

Proofreading

Third-party proofreading of manuscript for spelling, punctuation, etc.

Design and Format Manuscript for Print Edition *

Convert Microsoft Word manuscript into a custom book layout ready for printing. Includes considerations such as: book size, font selection, margins, graphics, index, and binding.

Design and Format Manuscript for eReader Edition *

Includes creating eReader versions for publication for publication via Kindle, Nook, Google Books, iBooks and Sony Reader.

Design and Format Illustrations / Graphics *

Work with the author to decide what graphics, photos, illustrations, etc. will be included in the book, along with layout implications. Co-create graphics and/or illustrations as desired by the author. Incorporate author-provided graphics/photos/illustrations.

Design and Format Cover *

Work with the author to co-create custom front and back book cover designs. Includes, for example, use of photo(s) (author-provided or otherwise), graphics, illustrations, etc.

Print / Publish Manuscript

Work with third-party on-demand printer to acquire desired copies of hard cover or soft cover books. Includes set-up charges, proof copy, etc.

*We pay you to publish with us!

The author will receive a refund of the investment in these services, if within the first two years after publication book sales generate publisher royalties that equal twice (2x) the amount of the total invested in these refundable services.

Develop and Launch Author / Book Website

4-6 page website to market book, including pages such as: About the Author, About the Book, Buy the Book, Testimonials, Calendar/Events.

Add Author Blog to Author / Book Website

Design custom blog to complement website with features per author request.

Develop and Launch On-line Press Kit

6-10 pages (e.g. About Author – Broadcast bio, Full bio; About the book -  ISBN, title, distributor information, price, where buy book; Suggested interview questions – Quotes/excepts from the book, Interview questions to make it easy on reporters; News and story ideas; Images – Book cover, Author; Media coverage and reviews – List of press releases, Testimonials; Contact info; Download link to PDF of entire press kit).

Develop and Print Promotional Materials

Create promotional materials, such as posters (of various sizes), postcards, bookmarks.

Concept Development

Work with the author to develop an idea into a book. Includes considerations such as: audience/market, genre, voice, tone, content, length, organization, research requirements, graphics/illustrations.

Content Consulting

A more extensive, detailed version of Concept Development. The goals are to ensure that the book: 1) fulfills its purpose, 2) is engaging and appealing to its target reader audience, and 3) is marketable in accordance with the author’s objectives.

Manuscript Editing

Three approaches to manuscript editing are offered: 1) Content editing, focusing on asking questions such as: “How should the book be organized?”, “What should be left in?”, “What should be left out?”, “Where does there need to be more?”; 2) Paragraph/sentence level editing, focusing on grammar, word choice, syntax, clarity, readability, etc.; 3) Proofreading, focusing on spelling, punctuation, etc.

Distribution

  • Solicit book placement in independent and other select book stores; Submit to wholesale distribution services in the U.S., Canada, the UK and Australia, including Ingram, Amazon.com, Baker & Taylor, Barnes & Noble, NACSCORP, Espresso Book Machine
  • Submit to online distribution services, including but not limited to: Amazon.com, Booksamillion.com, Google Books, BiblioScribe, Indi Bound, Abebooks.com,
  • Add to online social media services, such as: GoodReads, Library Thing, Shelfari
  • Send book to Amazon.com to sell on consignment, meaning they have it “in stock”

Fulfillment

Package and ship books to customers from author-purchased stock (e.g. promotional copies, purchases from author or EWH Press website)

Marketing

  • Provide Book Marketing Guide ebook
  • Consultation to develop overall marketing strategy with Author input
  • Set up book signings in stores we have a relationship with
  • Solicit book reviews (Author provides books as needed)*
  • Featured exposure by EWH Press at appropriate shows, expos, etc.
  • Shoot and edit author interview
  • Upload to online services: YouTube, Vimeo, Metacafe and up to 20 websites
  • Promote on EWH Press social networks
  • Create custom listing for your book on publisher’s bookstore site
  • Promote your book on EWH Press Website and social networks
  •  Submit entries for suitable book awards (entry fees paid by author)
  • Set up Amazon.com Author Central page
  • Add “Inside the Book” feature to Amazon.com listing
  • Develop direct-mail marketing campaign and co-execute with Author

Media Press Release*

  • Reaches journalists, bloggers, news services, search sites, etc.
